‘Anau specialises in designing and delivering culturally-responsive training programs that bridge Western and Pacific worldviews.

Through the innovative KAVAX platform—a talanoa-based methodology for addressing sensitive topics—she has successfully facilitated workshops for leading organisations including Shopify, Tamaki Regeneration Company, AUT, Auckland Council, APRA, Te Whatu Ora, Hapai te Hauoara, Mental Health Foundation New Zealand, The Prenatal Collective, ACE Alternative Education, and the Pasifika Bank Network.

Currently pursuing a PhD at Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato - Waikato University, 'Anau holds a Master's in Business Information Systems (First Class Honours) from AUT, and brings research capabilities informed by Pacific methodologies. Her expertise spans qualitative research design, community engagement, data collection and analysis, and comprehensive report writing.

Recent projects include leading the Mental Health Foundation's research on 'Mental Distress for Māori and Pacific People', Uptempo under The Southern Initiative at Auckland Council, and the Human Rights Commission's Pacific Pay Gap inquiry.

Through her leadership of Four Shells Kava Lounge—Auckland's first dedicated public kava space—and extensive community networks, ‘Anau supports Pacific Island entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Her work advances economic development while preserving cultural authenticity and bridging cross-cultural understanding.

Todd specialises in culturally-sensitive photography and documentary production, with a client base spanning over 50 New Zealand and international publications. His award-winning work includes the 2019 Sony New Zealand World Photographer of the Year National Award and runner-up for 2018 New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year.

As co-producer of the Vice New Zealand documentary Deportees of Tonga: Gangsters in Paradise, Todd brings expertise in cross-cultural storytelling that respects community protocols while delivering compelling narratives.

With extensive field experience across the Pacific, Todd provides comprehensive advisory services on climate change adaptation, disaster response, and community resilience.

His expertise encompasses the Sendai framework, disaster risk reduction, and transformative adaptation strategies.

Recent roles include Climate Change Disaster Risk Management Coordinator for MORDI Tonga Trust, where he managed rural development projects focusing on food security, environmental management, and community consultation.

Currently completing his PhD in transformative adaptation and climate migration in Tonga, Todd brings rigorous academic methodology to applied research projects. His published work spans climate change impacts, visual research methodologies, and Pacific cultural studies.

As a Deep South National Science Challenge Scholarship recipient, he has conducted longitudinal field research on climate change tourism and environmental migration, with presentations at international conferences.

Through his extensive work in Tonga and broader Pacific region, Todd has developed deep cultural competencies and established networks across Pacific Island communities.

He provides training on culturally-responsive approaches to photography and research, particularly when working as a cultural outsider.

His expertise includes understanding of traditional protocols, community consultation processes, and respectful engagement with indigenous knowledge systems.

As Co-Director of Four Shells Kava Lounge and through his work with Pacific Island suppliers, Todd provides strategic advisory services for Pacific business development, sustainable sourcing, and cross-cultural enterprise.

His experience spans relationship management with Pacific Island producers, cultural event coordination, and the integration of traditional practices into contemporary business models.

‘Anau Mesui-Henry is a Pasifika leader, researcher, and cultural consultant with experience in delivering transformative community initiatives and strategic advisory services.

As Director of Kumete Group Limited and creator of the KAVAX initiative, ‘Anau combines academic rigor, cultural expertise, and practical business acumen to organisations seeking to engage respectfully and effectively with Pacific communities, and authentic Pacific perspectives and solutions.

Todd M. Henry is an internationally recognised photographer, researcher, and Pacific specialist with deep expertise in climate change adaptation, disaster risk management, and culturally-responsive visual storytelling.

As Co-Director of Kumete Group Limited and PhD candidate at AUT University, Todd combines academic rigor with practical field experience to deliver transformative research, documentation, and advisory services for organisations working in Pacific communities and climate-sensitive contexts.
